11TH ZAMBIA WATER FORUM AND EXHIBITION

The 11th ZAWAFE will be held from 12th - 14th June, 2023 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre under the theme “Accelerating Water Security and Sanitation Investments in Zambia: Towards Attainment of Agenda 2030 through the Zambia Water Investment Programme”.

ZAWAFE will bring together various experts, institutions and stakeholders from within Zambia, the SADC region and the broader international community to share knowledge, exchange ideas and network with regards to water resources management and development.

ZAWAFE is open to practitioners in water, sanitation and hygiene sector, health sector, local government and housing, experts of the environment, energy experts, climate change experts, academicians and researchers, planning and development practitioners, policy makers, cooperating partners, non-governmental organizations, civil societies, financial and Investment experts and the general public.

Call For Exhibitions

We invite institutions and companies in the Water, Sanitation and related sectors to exhibit their products and services at this event in order to reach out to the Zambian populace on what they can offer in the sustainable management of water, sanitation and hygiene in Zambia. This year offers an opportunity for institutions to showcase their investment and other support they are offering the sector. For example, how does this investment compliment or arise from the Water Investment Programme launched by President Hakainde Hichilema in July 2022.  You are therefore encouraged to attend. The deadline for registration for Exhibition is May 22nd, 2023.

Registration

All participants and exhibitors to ZAWAFE will be expected to register to attend sessions. Participants and exhibitors can register ahead of ZAWAFE by downloading registration forms from the Downloads page of our Website. A non-refundable registration fee will be charged per participant/ exhibitor upon registration. Participants are encouraged to undertake field trips (see field trip sites below) that have been planned during ZAWAFE. All participants interested in going on field trips must register in advance and registration fees will be charged per participant.

Field Trips

Various field trips will be held WITHIN the ZAWAFE Period (12th-14 June, 2023). These include:

  • - Visit to a commercial farm using integrated water systems;
  • - Lusaka Sanitation Programme (LSP) Faecal Sludge Management, new Chunga Treatment Plant; and
  • - Lusaka Water and Sanitation Company new Iolanda Water Treatment Plant in Kafue.


Post ZAWAFE field trips:

  • - To Lake Kariba Dam for Energy-Water Nexus (June 15, 2023); and
  • - To Victoria Falls, Livingstone for Energy-Tourism-Water-Environment Nexus (June 15th 2023).
