The Zambia Water Forum and Exhibition (ZAWAFE) seeks to focus on the efforts being made to accelerate the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals with a special focus on SDG number 6. With only Six (6) years remaining towards the set targets:

The 12^th ZAWAFE will be held under the theme is “Closing the Gap: Working towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets”.
The forum is scheduled for three days (11^th – 13^th June 2024) and the fourth day (14^th June 2024) is scheduled for the post ZAWAFE field trip. The ZAWAFE programme will encompass keynote speeches, plenary sessions, parallel breakaway session and exhibitions.

Access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene is the most basic human need for health and overall well-being. The sustainable development Goal 6 goes beyond drinking water, sanitation and hygiene to address the quality and sustainability of water resources, which is critical to the survival of human beings and the planet at large. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals all depend on the attainment of SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation. Without the attainment of SDG 6, achieving the other SDGs would pose to be a challenge and therefore, it is important to start closing the gap in the water and sanitation sector in Zambia, the region and abroad. Therefore, a number of challenges and solutions have to be discussed at the 12^th ZAWAFE.
