13TH ZAMBIA WATER FORUM AND EXHIBITION
Forum Theme:
"Integrating Solutions for Sustainable Development: Exploring the Water-Energy-Food & Ecological (WEFE) Nexus"
The 13th Zambia Water Forum and Exhibition aims to raise awareness on the inseparable linkages between Water- Energy- Food & Ecological Nexus. The theme underscores the critical interdependencies between water, energy, food production and ecological systems, which are increasingly recognized as essential for sustainable development. The 13thZAWAFE invites individuals, institutions and companies in the Water, Sanitation, Health, Energy, Agriculture, Environmental and related sectors to present papers, hold panel discussions and showcase your skills and knowledge not only to the Zambian populace but also a wider audience comprised of delegates from all over the world.
As the global population continues to rise and the impacts of climate change become more pronounced, with only Five (5) years remaining towards the attainment of the set targets, the strain on these interconnected resources has intensified, necessitating a holistic approach to resource management and the need to accelerate all efforts being made in the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These efforts are critical in ensuring that Zambia meets its SDG targets, especially those related to Water, Food security, Climate action and Sanitation. Therefore, the 13th ZAWAFE seeks to explore all efforts and solutions made towards the attainment of the SDGs, with a great focus on the interconnectedness of Water, Energy, Food & Ecological systems, and particular attention to Sanitation and the role of Zambia's Drought Policy in promoting long-term sustainability.
